Arki Building Surveying is an independently owned firm located in Docklands, Melbourne. We have a statutory function within the state of Victoria, where our primary role includes the issuing of building permits and conducting mandatory building inspections.
Our building surveyors and inspectors are registered with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) to ensure that the work we perform is to the highest possible industry standard.

INSPECTIONS
The carrying out and recording of building inspections is vital to help ensure that the built product is above all safe, adheres to the approved plans and is in accordance with the NCC (National Construction Code).
The Victorian Building Regulations 2018 lists the notification stages for inspections as follows:

Prior to placing a footing; and
-
Prior to pouring an in-situ reinforced concrete member nominated by the relevant building surveyor; and
-
Completion of framework; and
-
Fire and smoke resisting building elements (applicable to Class 2, 3 & 4)

Final, upon completion of all building work.

Inspection Booking Tips

Be sure to list the Lot number (or street number if known)

Be sure to include a site contact number

Be sure to display a site sign (with the builder’s and building surveyor’s names, registration numbers and building permit number) at the front of the site

Be sure that access to the site will be available
-
Be sure that for multi-storey framework inspections, that access ladders and safety platforms are provided (OH&S requirement)

For after-hours e-mail bookings, please be sure to provide a minimum 48 hours’ notice
